Jane Stuart’s varied career started at age 5 singing “Me And My Teddy Bear” on a NYC TV show.
Musical theatre is where Jane’s talents had a 3 yr. run Off-Broadway in “Curley McDimple”, a parody of the Shirley Temple movies. Playing the comedic, role of the mean Miss Hamilton, (a montage of many roles played by the great character actress, Margaret Hamilton)was a great success.
Jane also shared the stage with Richard Gere, in “A Long Time Comin’ A Long Time Gone”, portraying Joan Baez. Then,right into a lead role in the innovative jazz musical, “Sambo”, for Joe Papp’s New York Shakespeare Festival Theatre, part of the Jazz Mobile Theater.
Jane’s recording career includes singing for National commercials, Bain de Soleil, Chevrolet’s “Heartbeat Of America”, Freedent Gum, and many others, singing alongside Patti Austin, Valerie Simpson and Shawn Colvin to name only a few. “Could It Be Magic” from Barry Manilow’s first album is another credit.
Jane Stuart’s debut CD, “Beginning To See The Light” received the very prestigious Blue Chip Award for “Best Jazz Vocals”, presented by the International Association of Jazz Educators. The 2nd CD success “Don’t Look Back” features the song Jane wrote and is singing in Made In New Jersey concert “Let It Come To You”
Most recently, Jane is featured vocalist with Bill Warfield’s-Hell’s Kitchen Funk Orchestra, a 9 piece group of some of New York’s most sought after and talented musicians. Soon to be released is a new CD featuring Jane on vocals with Paul Shaffer-organ and Blue Lou Marini-tenor sax.
Jane’s acting career is still going strong, recently landing a spot on the new cable TV show POSE , upcoming film The Third Night and a background spot on Murphy Brown.
As well as on camera, Jane works as a Voiceover actor reading children’s books, commercials and meditations.
She is starting up her Meditation Series “Meditations for People On The Go!”
